In a season that has lately spiraled downward, one thing steadily continues on the upswing for UH, and that’s Saint Juste’s rise to the top. DSJ has moved up to third for most career rushing yards in program history with 2,484. Even in a game full of frustration at Nevada last Saturday, it was rewarding to watch DSJ run for a career-high 241 yards, the fifth-best single-game rushing total in UH history, including a career-long 75-yard touchdown scamper. With 108 more yards, Saint Juste would become just the second Hawai’i player ever to record 1,000 yards in two seasons joining Gary Allen (1979 and ’81) and the first time the Warriors have ever had three straight 1,000 yard rushers (Paul Harris, 2015). Hawaii fans take note…we are witnessing possibly the greatest running back to ever don a Rainbow Warrior uniform and with 968 more yards, Saint Juste can add “greatest ever” to his resume by passing Gary Allen’s 36-year old record. With six games remaining (possibly seven with a bowl berth) and averaging nearly 150 yards on the ground per contest, DSJ has a fighting chance.

DSJ is also one of the top running backs in the nation, coming in at number three, behind Stanford’s Bryce Love and and San Diego State’s Rashaad Penny.
On paper, Hawaii has a big advantage over San Jose State, coming into the game as 17.5 point favorites. The Spartans (1-6 overall, 0-3 MWC), who are coached by Brent Brennan, the cousin of Warrior legend Colt Brennan, come into Aloha Stadium losing their last five contests. With 46 freshman on the roster, San Jose State is definitely going through some growing pains as the offense is averaging only 15 points per game and the defense is ranked near the bottom of the NCAA at #120. Still, coming off a four-game losing streak of their own, the Rainbow Warriors need our support more than ever to get this season turned around against SJSU. Even ranked 18th in the nation in total offense with 485 yards per game, fans have still not seen what this offense is completely capable of and homecoming would be the perfect time to showcase it. If the defense can get back on track and if penalties are minimized, it should be a great night for the Rainbows and the Warrior faithful.
